Research
In addition to training; this is not only an important activity but also the department’s duty and strength in previous years as well as next years. Topics of researching focus on treating water-waste water, managing and treating solid waste, controlling air and noise pollution, renewable energy and steady development.
Staff and Facibilities
The department recently has 9 lecturers ( 3 doctors, 1 Phd. Candidate, and 5 master). Most staff are trained in countries of advanced technology and science (Belgium, Germany, Thailand, Australia, America) together with variously and steadily professional qualification.
Facilities for research consisting of specialized labs with much modern equipment can meet specialized researching activities.
Research Activities
Researching activities of the department are various and focus on some following main fields:
- Treating feed-water (treat water including alum, iron, arsenic in supplying fresh water), treating drinking water.
- Treating waste water (treat industrial waste water of branches of seafood and aquatic, food processing, waste water in ponds feeding pangasius, leachate…)
- Managing and treating solid and semi-solid waster water (urban solid waste, waste from raising pigs, reusing and recycling…)
- Treating air and noise pollution(gas waste from charcoal ovens, industrial gas waste,…)
- Cleaner production
- Treating and Managing dangerous waste (hospitals, industry and agriculture)
And other relevant fields
Technology Transfer
That is a result of successful researching works transmitted technology. And some researches have carried out. Some representative models are summarized as follow:
- Model of equipment of distilling from salty into drinking water ( Reward Holcim Prize, 2011)
- Model of equipment of treating Arsenic in groundwater( Transmitted-Tra Vinh,2010)
- Models of USBF tank in treating waste water of fisheries, (2011)
- Biogas digesters (being updated…)
Publications
Beside training, the department’s staff implemented researching works in specialized topics and fields such as: treating waste water, fresh water and sanitizing environment, managing and treating solid waste, biogas,…The department’s staff has taken part in and been authors or coauthors of researching constructions released in magazines of foreign and domestic country. Researching works was listed in years as follow:
