The department has much experience in training engineers majoring Environment Engineering. The first course of the branch is 22nd (1996-2000). Formality of the branch consists of full time and part time training. Recently, all training programs according to credits have 120 credits (4 years)

On March 4th, 2015, the department of Environmental Engineering - college of Environment and Natural Resources organized a meeting to introduce and orient scientific research in students. Each research topic of student is supervised by a staff and only for students from third-year. This was a meeting to introduce researching methods, orient researching and mistakes when students have done scientific researches. Through the meeting, students having ideas and gaining researching methods will register to do their own scientific researching topics.
Yearly, CTU has an amount of expense to develop scientific researches of students. Each topic given maximum expense is 30 million VND. The scientific research of students is the strength of students majoring in Environmental Engineering. Previous years, some scientific researches were done by students gaining good results and prizes in competition of young scientific creation. Therefore, the department has promoted to conduct students who do scientific research this year 2005.
Field trip activities
The department of Environmental Engineering, College of Environment and Natural Resources organized an internship for class of Environmental Engineering in course 37 from 23rd -30th June, 2014 in provinces: Can Tho, Soc Trang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau, Kien Giang.
Students did their field trips in many systems and processes of treating such as: process of treating feed-water(surface water, ground water, reservoirs); process of treating waste water(centralized domestic waste water, centralized industrial waste water, industrial waste water, leachate); Process of treating air waste- noise in Industrial production(thermoelectricity, cement, air waste of stoves); process of clean agricultural technology and environmental protection( models of husbandry combining biogas and Electricity generation); status of environment with the impact of producing clean energy and tourism(wind electricity in coastal mudflats) and process of treating, recycling waste, hygienic landfill and producing compost…
After finishing the internship, students can see the management and real operation of environmental treatment works through which they can understand the principles of the equipment’s operation and maintenance, the safety rules of treatment works. Students can develop their abilities of working on their own/ in groups. Particularly, students can learn how to plan time of observation, supervision, analyzing the output quality and periodic reports of environmental treatment works.
